Police Reports

• Police responded to a domestic incident at 1:40 p.m. June 8 on Fire Tower Road in Bell Township, Clearfield County. Charges of assault were filed against a 56-year-old Hillsdale man.

• Police received a ChildLine report of potential child abuse at 2:37 p.m. May 21 on Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County. It was reported that a child missed school and had bruises on his arms. The investigation is ongoing.

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:23 p.m. June 9 on Route 119 in Henderson Township, Jefferson County. A 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Harvey L. Fyock, 44, Punxsutawney, was stopped in the northbound lane waiting for traffic to pass so it could make a left turn when a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Brady M. Muth, 19, Punxsutawney, struck it from behind. No injuries were reported.

• Police investigated a report of marijuana plants having been located on the complainant’s property on States Lane in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County. Upon arrival, it was determined that the plants had been removed. No drugs or drug paraphernalia were located or seized.

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:46 p.m. June 10 on 28th Division Highway in Rose Township, Jefferson County. A 2015 Chevrolet Captiva was stopped in the westbound lane waiting for a vehicle ahead of it to make a left turn onto Snyder Road. The driver of a 1999 Ford F250 Supercab was traveling west and did not see the traffic stopped ahead, rear-ending the first vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

• Police received a report of a lost firearm at 1:08 p.m. June 10 on Bills Road in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County. The firearm is a Smith & Wesson or Swaziland (use country code if make cannot be determined) 637 small pistol with laser sight valued at $400.

• Police responded to a report of a disabled motorist blocking a Perry Township Fire Department garage bay at 11:30 p.m. June 11 on Valier Drive. Upon making contact, the actor, a 41-year-old Reynoldsville woman, appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She allegedly was found to be in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Police said she resisted arrest, but was taken into custody and charged with DUI, resisting arrest and possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

• Police are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred at 4:30 a.m. June 11 on Mill Road in Gaskill Township, Jefferson County. An unknown driver was traveling south when their vehicle went off the road and hit a mailbox, newspaper box and wooden flower planter box. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.

• Police are investigating a theft that occurred sometime on May 19 on Hughey Road in Rose Township, Jefferson County. The victim reported that a Joe Burrow Rookie Patch Auto numbered football card was stolen and is offering a $250 reward.

• Police conducted a traffic stop at 11:56 p.m. June 13 on Elk Run Avenue in Punxsutawney after observing a lighting violation. Troopers observed several visual indicators of drug-related impairment in the driver, a 33-year-old Punxsutawney woman. After field sobriety tests, troopers asked her to submit to a drug recognition expert evaluation, which was conducted a short time afterward. The investigation is ongoing.

• Police responded to a domestic incident at 3:20 p.m. June 13 on Grant Street in Reynoldsville. It was discovered that a verbal altercation turned physical when a 43-yearold Reynoldsville man allegedly threw a plastic glass at the victim, striking her in the head. He was charged with harassment.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 7:35 a.m. June 13 on Interstate 80 in Washington Township, Jefferson County. A 2016 Acura MDX, driven by Salin Karki, 20, Pittsburgh, was in the left lane of travel when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported.

• Police conducted a traffic stop at 5:07 a.m. June 11 on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, for a speeding violation. Police detected an odor of marijuana while speaking with the driver, a 33-year-old man, who also reportedly showed signs of impairment. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and alleged possession of a small amount of marijuana. Two children were among the passengers in the vehicle. Charges are pending the results of chemical testing.

• Police are investigating a theft that occurred between 8 a.m. April 19 and 4 p.m. April 23 on Route 28 in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County. Unknown actor(s) made unwanted charges on the victim’s Verizon account. The theft was valued at $1,207.81.
