The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported two more COVID-19 deaths in Jefferson County over the weekend, raising the total to 155.
Jefferson County also recorded an additional 52 cases, and now has a cumulative total of 6,296 — 4,001 confirmed and 2,295 probable.
The Punxsutawney Area School District found new cases of COVID-19 in both schools as another week began Monday. The majority were at the elementary school, where five cases were detected. Two students, two staff members and one teacher tested positive for the virus. Contact tracing did not identify anyone who was known to have been exposed to any of the infected individuals.
The high school, meanwhile, detected one new case in a student. Another student was exposed and instructed to quarantine.
