Janice C. Hartzell, 76

Janice C. (Shaffer) Hartzell, 76 of Punxsutawney, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at her home.

She was born May 14, 1945, to Milton and Violet (Rummel) Shaffer in Punxsutawney.

Janice enjoyed crocheting and making dolls and crafts. She loved making pizza, eating at the Chinese buffet in Indiana and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Good and husband Michael, Smicksburg; a son, John M. Hartzell, Punxsutawney; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Good, Katelyn Neal and husband Jacob, and Jacob Good; two sisters, Judy McAdoo and husband Jerry and Alice Lechner and husband Ellsworth, both of Punxsutawney, numerous nieces and nephews; and loving companion Bill McDonald, Punxsutawney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Shaffer.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Interment will take place at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bell Township, Punxsutawney.
