Terry P. Stahlman, 84

Terry P. Stahlman, 84, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1936, in Perry Township, a son of the late Martha M. (Slawson) and Paul H. Stahlman.

On Dec. 7, 1957, he married Evelyn M. (Bowers) Stahlman, who preceded him in death on July 26, 2009.

Terry and his wife Evelyn were the owners of Stahlman’s Country Store for over 33 years.

Terry was baptized in the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney. He attended the St. John’s Reformed Church. He was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, farming and landscaping.

He was drafted to the United States Army, where he served for two years and then continued his military service with the Army National Guard for another 10 years.

He is survived by three children, son Jamie Stahlman and wife Jackie of Punxsutawney, son Richard Stahlman and wife Tammy of Punxsutawney and daughter Shelley Smith of Punxsutawney; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five siblings, William Stahlman and wife Mary Ellen of Punxsutawney, Oma Joye Dunmire of Punxsutawney, Mary Ann Holt of Colorado, Jerry Stahlman and wife Nancy of Lewisberry, and Nada Smith of Fort Washington, Maryland; brothers-inlaw Terry Bowers and wife Linda of Punxsutawney and Arnold Bowers and wife Peggy of Timblin; and his dog, Josie.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darl M. Stahlman, and a son-in-law, Samuel E. Smith.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at the funeral home with Rev. Glenn McQuown officiating.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
