PSP-Punxsy

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:06 a.m. July 19 on Porter Road in Perry Township, Jefferson County. A 2020 Honda CRF250L encountered gravel on the roadway and was unable to negotiate a curve, going over an embankment and striking a roadway sign. The driver sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

• Police conducted a traffic stop at 1:27 p.m. Aug. 5 on Williams Road in Bell Township, Jefferson County. The driver appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and allegedly was in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Charges are pending.

• Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief at 2:28 p.m. Aug. 6 on Sprankle Mills Road in Oliver Township, Jefferson County. An unknown vehicle left the roadway and damaged a yard. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP-Punxsy.

• Police responded to a reported altercation between two individuals at 9:34 p.m. Aug. 6 on Stonetown Road in Canoe Township, Indiana County. It was determined one of the parties involved had pointed a rifle at another person. He was arrested and taken to the Indiana County Jail.

• Police responded to a report of a driver asleep at the wheel of a vehicle at 3:28 a.m. Aug. 7 on Park Avenue in Punxsutawney. The vehicle was running and partially blocking the roadway. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The investigation is ongoing.

PSP-DuBois

• A scooter was found at 10 a.m. June 21 at Falls Creek Park on Taylor Avenue in Falls Creek. The owner can contact PSP-DuBois at 814-3714652.

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:41 a.m. July 26 on Interstate 80 in Union Township, Clearfield County. A 2016 International Coach MFG was in the right lane with its four-way flashers on. A 2016 Kenway Campers T680 failed to slow and struck it from behind. The driver and passenger in the first vehicle were transported to Penn Highlands with suspected minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was cited for following too closely.

• Police responded to a report of cruelty to animals at 8:30 a.m. July 31 on Sprague Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. The complainant reported that the suspect killed the family’s pet rabbit. Charges will be filed.

• Police responded to a report of endangering the welfare of children at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 on Huey Lane in Union Township, Clearfield County. The suspect(s) allegedly left a 6-month-old child alone in an apartment for an undetermined amount of time.

• Police are investigating a report of rape at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 5 on Kendrick Road in Woodward Township, Clearfield County. An unknown man entered the victim’s apartment while she was at work. When she returned home, he was still inside. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her and left.

• Police responded to a report of assault at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 5 on Georgino Lane in Huston Township, Clearfield County. A verbal altercation turned physical. One of the parties was charged. The investigation continues.

• Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief between 11 a.m. Aug. 1 and 8 a.m. Aug. 5 on Deerfield Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. Trees on the victim’s property were cut down.

• Police are investigating a burglary between midnight July 24 and 2 p.m. July 24 at Reynoldsville Gospel Center on Gospel Center Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. An unknown actor gained access on multiple occasions with and without using force, stealing four YI home security cameras, a General Electric refrigerator, a 20-pack of Exide AA batteries and garbage bags. A potential suspect was observed via camera footage. He is believed to be a white male with lightcolored hair wearing dark clothing, dark gloves and carrying a dark-colored gym bag.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:07 p.m. Aug. 5 on Interstate 80 in Pine Township, Clearfield County. A 2022 Volvo VNL 760 went out of control on the wet roadway, and its trailer struck a guiderail. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side. The driver was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected minor injuries.

• Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 6 on Interstate 80 in Pine Township, Clearfield County. A 2017 Volvo VNL760 was approaching a previous crash and moved into the left lane to avoid it. A 2000 Freightliner traveling directly behind it failed to slow down and hit it from behind, causing it to strike the already crashed vehicle. A 2020 Freightliner Cascadia directly behind the second vehicle attempted to move into the left median to avoid contact but struck it with its trailer. No injuries were reported. The driver of the 2000 Freightliner was cited for speeding.
