Griebels make D9 AA Volleyball All-Star team

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Lady Chucks volleyball team placed two players on the D-9 AA Volleyball All-Stars, with Danielle and Samantha Griebel being named to the All-Star team.

Danielle Griebel (junior starting setter) led the team with 564 set assists. She achieved her 1,000th-set assist during her junior year, and currently stands at 1,234 set assists for her career. She also had 37 aces and 260 digs.

Samantha Griebel (sophomore outside hitter) had 194 kills, which tied her with Ciara Toven for tops on the team.

She lead the team in service aces with 47 and had 299 digs on defense.

Other members of the D-9 AA All-Star team include Kane’s Mia Anderson, Mackenzie Blankenship and Cora Jekielek, along with Keystone senior Leah Exley and Moniteau’s Abby Jewart.
